Can I get really real?
You guys, the last few weeks have been…rough. Really rough. In the days following the election, I could barely force myself out of bed. I didn’t know how to overcome my sadness and my fear. I still don’t think I’ve 100% figured that out (have any of us?), but I do know that there is always power within action and intention. When my friend and wedding photographer Jessica Schilling posted her idea on the LA Wedding Vendors & Creatives facebook page, I was “in”, immediately and without reservation.
I am super proud to announce that I, along with about 40 other wedding professionals in Los Angeles, will be producing a day of free back-to-back elopements for LGBTQ couples on Wednesday, January 11th, 2017 at The York Manor in Highland Park. We want to give everyone the opportunity to marry before the inauguration. We don’t really know what the future holds, but like Michelle O. says, “When they go low, we go high.” And we are bringing our skills and talents to our community in the way we know best – in celebration.
Photography, planning & styling, officiants, flowers, and light refreshments will all be provided for couples and their guests (the only thing they need to bring is a marriage license). After an afternoon of back to back ceremonies, there will be dancing and cake and…more dancing!
We still have availability for more couples to participate, so if you know of anyone in the Los Angeles area (or who wants to travel to get hitched here) who would be interested, please share this or have them contact us or fill out this form:

Thanks!

Thank-you for this. Truly, what a blessing, given this inclement, hostile, political climate. My fiancé and I are so looking forward to making an 8 year “partnership” a marriage!
