Truth be told, this wedding is 90% chic and 10% nerd. But it’s 100% love.
One of the biggest joys as a wedding planner is when a guest at a wedding says to me, “This wedding is SO Kendal & Dave!” I always want Moxie Bright weddings to be a clear expression of the couple of honor, and Dave & Kendal brought so much of themselves to their Big Day.
October 8th was a gorgeous day in Los Angeles. After weeks of record-breaking heat, we were granted a reprieve in the form of a 77-degree day. It was heaven!
Kendal & Dave started their day getting ready with their wedding party. Kendall looks gorgeous, even before The Heart of Makeup finished their handiwork. And everyone was in love with Dave’s custom burgundy suit. I especially love Dave’s Head Boy pin.
While the wedding party was getting ready, the Creative Team was making magic happen at The 1909.
Can we talk about this chuppah? Kendal & Dave wanted a chuppah that looked like it was organic to the venue and also lush and unmistakably fall. I think The Enchanted Florist hit it out of the park. I’m obsessed with the garland circling the birch. Such an awesome detail!
In short order, it was time for the First Look. I love a First Look – as a planner, and I loved it as a bride! There is just something so calming about seeing each other before the ceremony. All your nerves are quelled, and you can be present and really live in your ceremony. Also, you can take portraits with your dog. Isn’t Murray is the sweetest?
After the First Look, Kappen Photography got creative with the group photos. I’ve planned a few weddings at The 1909, and I love seeing each photographers style and their special way of looking at the world. I love these locations and the images Emily & Peter created.
Once again, can we talk about these florals?!? OBSESSED.
And if you didn’t get the Head Boy reference above, maybe this will help you out.
For everyone who wonders “should I give my ring bearer our actual rings?”, the answer is no. Give them ring pops. Also, comes in handy as a bribe to get kids down the aisle! 🙂
Soon, it was ceremony time. You can see and hear more of the ceremony in the video below.
This escort card display was one of the many personal touches added by Kendal & Dave. Do you know what it is?
Murray was very well represented, no only in person, but on all the table numbers too! The photos were taken by Kendal & Dave on their numerous adventures with Murray.
After a delicious dinner, many heartfelt toasts, and a movie made by Kendal’s dad, the bride & groom invited their guests to the main house for dessert and dancing.
In addition to the fabulous cake from Susie Cakes Bakery, we also served an assortment of delicious donuts from Donut Friend.
Pro tip: Donuts also make an excellent nesting place for your wedding rings.
Kendal & Dave ended the night in the right way – dancing and partying hard with their guests. Thanks to Hey Mister DJ for keeping the dance floor rocking all night long!

Aw Renee!!! It was so fun reading through this and reliving that day from your perspective! Your words are so sweet, thank you. We were incredibly lucky to have you beside us throughout everything. I honestly don’t know what we would have done without you!!! <3
