I am so thrilled to finally share this shoot with the world! It’s so hard to keep all this pretty under wraps for so many months! We are so happy to be featured on Ruffled today.
When Tabitha of Winston & Main came to me with the idea to do a modern minimalist shoot, I said, “I know the perfect venue!” The Modern in Long Beach was the absolute best venue to realize our clean, fresh design. With all this gorgeous light and open space, we focused our attention on bold beautiful centerpieces, perfect for a daring couple not afraid to bring the drama…in their decor, of course.
One of our creative goals for this shoot was to reinterpret the 2017 trend of “Greenery”. We have all seen (and designed) a ton of weddings with garland, so we challenged ourselves to come up with a fresh concept. We mixed banana leaves with plexiglass, clean white, bright gold, and gray marble accents. It’s a modern romantic design for a bold couple in love!
Who says your plates all have to line up in a neat stack? Thinking “outside of the box” can bring unexpected beauty to your tablescape. The marble chargers and gray earthenware from Borrowed Blu look amazing in this unconventional setup. And do you love these napkins? Tabitha dip dyed them herself!
Gorgeous calligraphy on custom cut plexi place cards really makes an impact. And as a bonus, your guests can (and will) take them home with them as favors. Who can resist calligraphy? No one!
This white and gold flatware from Borrowed Blu is giving me life! When you carefully select every detail, you don’t need a ton of “stuff”. Keep it clean, keep it classy.
Our Real Couple models, Alpha & Tony, celebrated their 10 year anniversary the week of our shoot and revealed to us, mid-day, that these photos are the only wedding photos they have ever taken! They are such lovely souls, (and so in love), I consider it a real honor to be a small part of this chapter in their love story.
