Year in Review 2015

Well, here we are at the very last day of 2015. Where did the year go? It seems like I blinked, and 24 weddings later, it’s December 31st.

Here’s our Year In Review 2015, in photos. And some words.

(apologies for my iPhone snaps. Still waiting on pro photos for some of these!)

We started off our year at The Oviatt Penthouse for Mike & Erick’s big day. This may be my favorite iPhone photo of the year. Talk about perfect timing!

Daniel & Ethan chose a gorgeous and historic venue, The Mountain Mermaid, for their big day!

A few weeks later, we were back at The Mountain Mermaid for the *surprise* elopement of Wei & Heidi.

Heidi thought they were getting married at City Hall, but Wei had other plans for her!

Just down the road on Topanga Canyon, April brought us beautiful weather and the beautiful wedding of Kim and Aaron at The 1909.

We then headed out to Palm Springs for the at-home wedding of Jaclyn & Ben. We love traveling, especially to Palm Springs!

We also traveled to Santa Barbara, another favorite destination! Alfie & Amy celebrated their love at the Belmond El Encanto in style!

Andrea & Paul had a blast at their at-home, retro-inspired Los Angeles wedding, and so did their guests!

July started with Emerald & Chris’ fabulous wedding at The Los Angeles Athletic Club. I just cannot get enough of this ceremony view!

We ended July at the Hillcrest Country Club for Christina & Matt’s beautiful, joyous and puppy-filled wedding. All weddings should have puppies!

In August, we pulled out all the stops for Sara & Steve’s “art + science” themed, amazingly creative and unique wedding at Crafted. I have one word for you: Jellyfish.

In September, we celebrated with Rebecca & Matthew at Temescal Gateway Park. The naturally rustic setting was a perfect match for these two hiking lovers.

September also brought us Emily & Eric’s lovely day at Cafe Pinot. We adore their elegant, understated style. And their joy!

The fall brought us to many awesome venues, including the American Jewish University for Shelly & Brendon’s beautiful day!

This photo of their live painter in action was one of my most liked Instagram photos of the year!

Marta & Matt’s swanky Cicada Club wedding was a highlight of the year! I loved their honest, hilarious ceremony and their creative scavenger hunt for their guests.

Also, the bride made these cake toppers. So cool.

We were thrilled to celebrate with Gillian & Jason at one of my favorite Los Angeles venues, Carondelet House.

This guest photo just sums up their gorgeous night so well. I cannot wait to see their professional photos!

We finished up our year back at The Unique Space – twice! First for Farley & Kelsi in November…

And then just a few days ago for the adorable Melissa & Omar.

Melissa & Omar pulled a fast one on their guests by inviting them to an engagement party – and then revealing they were actually attending their wedding.

It was a wonderful way to end our 2015 season.

I have spent the last few days unwinding, regrouping, and looking forward to today – New Years Eve! This is one of my top three holidays (1st place: Thanksgiving, 2nd place: Christmas) because I love the occasion of a fresh start. And I love champagne.

Before I sign off for the year, I’d like to give big thanks and love to all who made 2015 a fantastic year at Moxie Bright Events. To all of my amazingly wonderful couples, thank you for letting me into your inner circle and for trusting me on our journey together; and to my team – Kristie, Ali, Julie, Kaz, Mark, and of course, my husband Joe. Couldn’t have made it through the year without any of you, so thank you!

Here’s to 2016 – the blank page on which we write our future!

Happy New Year!

Renee
